Use to grind colors, but it is sometimes best to wash and bleach before use. Cold pressed linseed oil is sometimes recommended when grinding dry pigment to make oil paint, because of its higher acidity than alkali refined linseed oil. Used as a medium with oil colors for thinning, lower gloss and transparency, and pronouncing brush marks.
