Control Desk power station a detail of domestic lifeA heavy industrial control desk, its angled panel crowded with rotary dials and switches, sits abandoned inside Hornsby Quarry. Spray paint layers the surface; graffiti covers the concrete walls and timber boarding behind it. The quarry operated from around 1905 to 2002 under a succession of operators, producing crushed dolerite for road base across northern Sydney. Part of the Hornsby Quarry series.
