My laptop isn't well behaved (doesn't throttle back current consumption as the input voltage falls), and it does put a standard 2.1A 5V charger into overload when the laptop demands more than ~10W (as it should), but it does charge intermittently (~30% duty cycle between resets), which is exactly what I wanted for emergencies
