The station was the terminus of a branch line that took 37 years to push south from Joppa Junction to the Monaro tablelands

Part of the Sekitan no Rekishi Mura complex built between 1978 and 1983 as Yubari's pivot from coal to tourism

The scratch is the only mark here anyone chose to leave

Workshop Switchroom Size:XS The Marina opened on 28A yellow crane isolator sign marks the wall above a small electrical box in the workshop switchroom at Awaba Colliery, beside a green first aid cross and a ladder rising to an upper platform. Switching and breaker panels line the left wall, with an orange electric shock warning cabinet opposite. Development of the mine began in 1947; the last shift ran on 23 December 2011.
